Seo Bin Han

Note: This page was last edited on April 14th, 2026. I am still in the early stages of formulating this portfolio, and thus this is by no means a completed means of portraying my work. (There is actually quite literally nothing on here at the given moment). I will update my portfolio and this note as I go.

But despite all this, thank you for taking the time to visit my portfolio. My name is Seo Bin Han, and I am a junior at UC Davis studying Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. I chose this field because I have always been entranced by the ability for humans to capture the language of our body, and to translate them into a domain that allows us to utilize technology to achieve the once 'impossibles'.

My core interests lie in algorithm-hardware co-design for neural signal acquisition systems. I really enjoy developing signal processing and decoding methods that are architected with silicon constraints in mind from the start, rather than retrofitted onto existing hardware. Specifically, I find the discernment and creation of signal processing algorithms through a mathematical outlook particularly interesting. I have also recently become increasingly interested in integrated circuits, and am aiming to deepen my understanding in this field.

Academic work

Research

Most of the research I do at university involves biomedical signal processing (a strong focus on neural signals), computational modeling, and BCI systems. Click any project to see posters, papers, and code (when available for public view).

Side projects

Personal

To be honest, I have no idea what I’m doing most of the time. However, I do have a rather large creativity trait, and thus whenever I have an idea that’s way out of my depth, I figure it out as I go.

Writing

Blog

In my free time, I deeply enjoy writing. I believe that writing and reading are great privileges, and naturally, I have a fervent obsession with fountain pens. I deeply find both happiness and comfort in writing about what I've learned (via research, projects, classes, books) and in articulating the thoughts I have in the middle of night as well. I am natively fluent in English and Korean, and I hope to someday be fluent in Japanese and Chinese as well.
